Who: Dr Sue McIntyre Dr McIntyre has a 35 year association with CSIRO where she was a Senior Principal Research Scientist, conducting research in agricultural ecosystems in the Riverina, Queensland and eastern NSW. Sue led a multidisciplinary-team which worked to define ecological sustainability for mixed grazing-cropping systems in eucalypt grassy woodlands. The resulting book summarizing this work (Managing and Conserving Grassy Woodlands, CSIRO Publishing) has been in print for 15 years. What: Sue will provide an introduction, and lead an informal discussion on, ideas around sustainability and the various ways in which this word has been applied and interpreted over the decades.
