McNamara Park, Broke Vegetation Management

The Broke Bulga LandCare Group has been working on improvements to this Singleton Council Local Government Area Park. This meant many hours of work for the members of the small LandCare Group who were primarily focusing on the removal of the African Olive.

The three local Coal and Allied operations in the region – Hunter Valley Operations, Mount Thorley Warkworth and Bengalla –  offered 20 Health & Safety employees to assist with the initiative as part of a team building exercise. Members of the LandCare Group assisted the different groups with weed identification and removal.  After close to four hours of work the park is now free of African Olives and many other known weeds in the upper area of the park.

Without the assistance of Coal & Allied this could not have been accomplished during 2015.
