Woody Weeds: Piloting new control techniques
Demonstrating new techniques to control woody weeds across Landcare regions in the central west.
Landcare groups in the Central West will partner with land managers, local Council weed officers and other control agencies to pilot new techniques to control priority woody weeds such as African Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum) and Blackberry (Rubus fruticosusa) at six sites across the region.
The pilot will demonstrate the effectiveness of mulching methods as part of integrated weed management programs. The outcomes will be promoted to the broader community through visual case studies and media.

- Mid Macquarie Landcare in the Dubbo/Wellington/Narromine area;
- Central West Lachlan Landcare across Parkes and Forbes;
- Condobolin District Landcare
- Coonamble Landcare
- 3 Rivers Landcare (Dunedoo, Coolah, Mendooran) and
- Weddin Landcare for Grenfell and surrounding areas.
