What an effort!

Baadhang Mittigar Landcare working bee - Monday June 2nd

New establishing Landcare group Baadhang Mittigar worked together to improve Country at Mamre House.

Thank you to all those who attended the Baadhang Mittigar Landcare working bee held on Monday 2nd June. It was a great day for it; the weather was lovely.
We made a really good effort in fixing up the area a bit, letting the native plants that are there have some space to breathe. We removed a bunch of woody weeds such as (African olive, small and large- leaved privet, paddy’s lucerne and more) reduced some of the debris from the site to prepare for planting, treated herbaceous weeds (spear thistles, farmers friends, ect) , removed 5 huge bags full of plastic plant guards from a previous planting conducted years ago.
Thank you, Don, for bringing along the BBQ, providing, and also cooking the lunch on the day, this was greatly appreciated.
Another thanks to Western Sydney Weeds Authority's weed control team for sharing their knowledge and expertise in weed control on the day, assisting with some of the complex weed removal on site requiring techniques such as drill and frill.
Keep an eye out for the next activity day!
