Shorebirds Community Engagement Program, 2019 - 2023.

The Shorebirds Community Engagement Program aims to increase community awareness and engagement in the protection and preservation of shorebird habitat along the Hunter estuary.

The purpose of any community engagement activities is to minimise human disturbance of shorebird habitat, particularly in the key habitat areas.

The program will include:

  • travelling road show exhibition at local libraries, museums, tourist visitor centres, and galleries
  • presentations at local clubs, government and non-profit organisations such as surf clubs
