Organisational Health Checks now available for Landcare groups and networks.

Two checklists are available for you to check the organisational health of your group.

Good governance is crucial to the effective operation of Landcare groups and to gaining and retaining the confidence of the community, funding bodies, sponsors, volunteers and members. Essentially, good governance means that structures, activities and operations of your Landcare group are conducted in accordance with the principles of legal compliance, probity, transparency and accountability.

There are now two Governance Health Checks available on the Gateway as Landcare in Box resources. One Health Check is suitable for normal sized Landcare and Landcare type groups that do not have paid staff, while the other Health Check is for larger groups and Landcare networks.

The NSW Landcare Support Team and Landcare NSW recommend that all groups should complete a Health Check at least once a year.
