Six ways of putting some swish on your Gateway site!

Worrying about filling all that white space on your Landcare group page? Here are six things you can do to add some sparkle.
  1. Add your logo - Nothing like a snappy brand to show them who you are. What no logo?! Put a photo of your group, a photo of one of your projects or a picture of what you think the group is about, (Play nice on copyright and don't make the file too big please). You can upload a logo by editing your group's front page.
  2. Tell us something about your group - Now that you're editing your front page, you can put a few lines in about what your group does - aims, objectives, history, juicy facts. Put one line in the summary and the rest in body text field. You can also put formatting, links and pictures in the body text field.
  3. Add your group's Facebook and/or Twitter Feed - Nothing like a good Facebook page to tell people about your group's news and opinions. Social media feeds are edited on the front page, below where you put the logo. If you get stuck getting your Facebook and Twitter feeds on, e-mail John Perrott on and he will help you out.
  4. Link to your network - If you are part of a Landcare or Bushcare network, you may want to link to their Gateway site. This can done by selecting their name in the categorization section of the front page. One problem - if the network isn't there, the link won't work. This may be the time you encourage the network to join.
  5. Add your photos to the photo album - A really simple thing to do, Go to the Photo album on your page, hit "add new image", upload your photo, add a caption if you want and hit save.
  6. Tell us about your favourite project - Just like before. Go to the Projects folder, hit "add new project" and the fields are the same as when you were telling us something about the group. Then you can tell us about your next favourite project

If you do really a really good job you never know where your group site may turn up! Each month the NSW Landcare Support Team will be selecting what they consider the two best presented group sites for a spin on the carousel, the rotating group links on the top of the Gateway's front page. These and other good tries may also be featured on the NSW Landcare Support Facebook Page.

NB - if you have any troubles logging in or editing, or if you haven't set a password to edit your site, or for any other question please e-mail John Perrott on
