The NSW Landcare Gateway Site Crashes – We Need Your Help

You may already know that the NSW Landcare Gateway ( has been out of action since Wednesday 4 December 2013.

The site crashed following a restart of the system after routine maintenance when the database was reloading.  Rather than reloading the most recent data files it reloaded the original files from August 2013. The most recent data files were lost in the process and are not recoverable.

This system failure was very unusual.  The company that developed the site and maintains it has been working to isolate the problem and fix it.  They are also deploying additional back up systems to ensure data is not lost in the unlikely event that the site crashes again.

The good news is that the DPI Landcare Support Team have your initial registration forms.  We will use this information to re-construct your group’s site. However we will still need your help.

What Can You Do To Help?

Our aim is to be able to give you access to your pages on the site from Friday 20 December.  You will be sent an email as soon as your group has been re-registered on Gateway.

When you receive this email please do the following:

  • log on to Gateway asap and
  • reset your password
  • reload any information – events, news etc for your group that is missing.

If you are having any difficulty with the system, particularly with the reloading of information, please contact or phone 9842 8064 (please note the office will be closed from 25 December to 6 January).  The team working on getting the site operational will help you.

The NSW Landcare Support Team apologises for any inconvenience this has caused.
