Dubbo/Wellington Urban Rivercare Project

This project will support much needed resources to help deliver Rivercare activities along the Macquarie River through Wellington and Dubbo.

The program is subsidised through funding from Landcare Australia's partnership with The Jaramas Foundation and Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure.

This project will:

  • see 500 trees planted along the Macquarie River
  • carry out riparian weed control activities
  • enable the startup of a new Wellington Rivercare Group including 15 river rehabilitation kids for volunteers and a lockable equipment trailer,
  • deliver chemical certification and first aid training for 10 volunteers.
  • provide secure equipment storage for the Dubbo Rivercare equipment trailers
  • deliver corporate volunteering events in Wellington and Dubbo including speaker fees, catering and advertising and
  • coordinate 1 term of Nature Spotters youth riparian engagement activities in Wellington and Dubbo.
