The benefits of trees to the local community in this area includes stabilisation of the riparian zone in the area north of Dubbo town on the Macquarie River. Providing shade in a very treeless and degraded area is a vital method used to help reduce heat loss in the local urban area. This tree planting plays a part in lowering local temperatures and therefore reducing energy costs.

The trees planted as part of this project will become a major environmental factor that will increase biodiversity and become a haven for many bird and animal species of the local area. This tree planting on the Police Park in Dubbo will become another green space that can be utilised by the local community for recreational purposes.

A huge shout out to Jonothan Lavander from Dubbo Regional Council for his ongoing support and collaboration throughout the duration of the project. Additionally, a huge thank you the hard work and enthusiasm of David Harris in preparing the planting sites. Without their efforts, this project would not have been possible.
