Wellington Waste2Art Workshop

Mid Macquarie Landcare coordinated a Waste2Art workshop in the July school holidays as part of our Plastic Free July program.

Thanks to funding under the Bodangora Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, Mid Macquarie Landcare ran a Waste2Art workshop for local students during the July school holidays.

Our Waste Warrior is designed as a posing board for people to snap a fun photo with as they commit to "choosing to refuse" single use plastic.

Made up of tetra packs (plant-based milks and juice boxes), cardboard, egg cartons, takeaway coffee cups, bottle lids, straws and more, the Waste Warrior is a visual call-to-action for the public to take part in the War on Waste.

The workshop aligned with a month-long series of promotions for Plastic Free July encouraging people in the community to reduce their reliance on plastic packaging and 'choose to refuse'.

The Waste Warrior has been spending his time in local coffee shops encouraging people to BYO Keep Cups, but will be popping up at the regional Waste2Art showcase from September 27 at the Dubbo Regional Gallery.

Would you like the Waste Warrior to visit your school, community event or workplace? Contact our team to enquire!
