PLANNING FOR PLANTING PART 2 - A guide to planting on your property Thursday 5 July 7.00pm Murrumbateman Country Inn Following on from our field visit on 5 May to Russ Wise and Wendy Tassell’s place (Planning for Planting Part 1), Part 2 is coming up in a couple of weeks. And if you like we can talk about you (or at least your property). WHO: The discussion will be led by botanist and ecologist Dr Sue McIntyre WHAT: Sue will discuss: - How do you choose from the hundreds of species that could potentially be used to re-vegetate your property? - What are some of the important principles in selecting material that best matches your site. - And the most important aspect is to consider the re-vegetation site itself. SO GET INVOLVED: If you would like to contribute by providing some examples of sites that could be included in our discussion please send me the following information by June 29th to allow Sue time to consider the specific site issues: 1) One or several digital photos of the site. 2) Additional information that might not be evident from the photo would also be helpful, such as : i) The management history of the site, including the fertilizer history ii) The position in the landscape (e.g. crest of hill, drainage line, and its slope position - (mid, upper or lower) iii) The identity of any eucalypts that might persist at or around the site (iv) Geographic location (proxy for geology).
