Carbon To Take Centre Stage at Wagga Wagga Forum

Farmers and landholders are increasingly turning to carbon projects as a way to fund on-farm environmental improvements, but many are still navigating complex questions about how to get started and what success really looks like.

That’s the focus of the upcoming Business of Carbon Forum, to be held in Wagga Wagga on Thursday, 12 February 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch and afternoon tea provided.

The forum will bring together experienced carbon advisors and farmers already participating in carbon projects for a straight-talking discussion about practical realities on the ground. Participants can expect insights into what makes a viable project, how to maintain control over carbon assets and how to avoid common pitfalls.

“There’s growing interest in carbon farming, but it can be difficult for producers to separate the promise from the paperwork,” organisers said. “This event is designed to give farmers the clarity and confidence they need to make informed decisions.”

Presented by FarmLink Research Limited, Holbrook Landcare Network, and Murrumbidgee Landcare Incorporated, the event is supported by the Commonwealth of Australia through the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water under the Carbon Farming Outreach Program, in collaboration with the Grower Group Alliance.
