Southern Highlands Landcare Network have been working at this property for four years. Its challenging country to revegetate and this time we are trying a new approached based on research. We are planting in 'clumps' around existing trees using shrubs and grasses and few supplementary trees to create 'Habitat Hops'. The hope is that this denser planting will support the growth of eucalypts by planting fast growing wattles to shelter them from winds and frost. Understorey plants and grasses will be included to improve biodiversity and encourage wildlife to settle when the plants grow.

It won't be a big planting only around 200 plants but it will be an interesting one. We will provide tools and start the holes with an augur. Morning tea will be supplied.

If you decide to join us please where appropriate clothing including enclosed shoes and a hat. Also bring a water bottle for hydration while your are planting.
