Upper Deua Catchment Group and the Mulloon Institute
Joining together in a $1 Million project funded through the Australian Government Future Drought Fund.
Project TIMME (Training, Implementation, Mentoring, Monitoring and Evaluation) is a 5-year (2025–2030) project empowering six communities to increase the health and resilience of their landscapes. It will enable local communities to work collaboratively on landscape-scale projects that achieve measurable benefits for land, water, people and biodiversity. Araluen Valley is one of six projects in Australia, working with landholders and the community, to be completed in 2030.
The primary approach will see clear aims to restore hydration across the landscape, repair catchment areas, and increase knowledge and skills amongst participants in system thinking.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for the Araluen Valley and its community to work together to broaden our community wide approach to actively caring for the Valley. Working together in an evidence based approach across the landscape will encourage resilience in the face of a changing climate and the occasional shocks to the landscape.
Meet with Dr Andrew Moriarty TIMME Director and the local Landcarers on Sunday 17th May at 2pm at the Araluen Hall for a great afternoon focussing on this amazing project.
