Revitalising the Billabong Creek with Squadron Energy
Engaging local groups including fishing clubs and schools, and Indigenous groups, with volunteers assisting in planting and community events.
Through Squadron Energy sponsorship YACTAC hosted an environment morning on May,12th 2025.
It was a beautiful day down at the Billabong Creek, Conargo as students from the Conargo Public School took part in a hands-on environmental education event exploring the question "What is in the Billabong Creek?"
Local ecologist, Dan Hutton, had students looking at life up close with the prolific Australian glass shrimp (Paratya australiensis), taking centre stage. It lives in the Billabong Creek and is an excellent food resource for our native fish. An eastern long necked turtle was also on display and the students learnt to differentiate male from female by looking at the underbelly.
This event was proudly supported by Squadron Energy's Conargo Wind Farm.
