Statewide Gathering Sydney, March 2019

Local Landcare Coordinator Initiative State Community of Practice - March 2019.

Registration is now open (closes 28 Feb 2019) for LLCI Coordinators, host organisation committee representatives and both RLFs and RALFs, you will have received an email about registering.  Contact us if you have any questions about this.

Registered attendees will receive additional information via email so ensure you register promptly.  There is some homework prior to the event - see your email sent 19 February 2019.

This event is being held in Sydney for ease of travel from regional NSW. To minimise costs and maximise experience we have booked the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern.

The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that aims to build capability and create opportunities with and for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, from Sydney and across Australia.

Please note:

Commences 1pm Monday 18 March and concludes 1pm Wednesday 20 March.

The Centre is a dry facility.

There is a gymnasium and indoor swimming pool in the sports stadium which you will be able to use.

As we are staying in a lively part of Sydney please pack earplugs to help ensure a good nights sleep.

Casual, comfortable clothing is all that is required.

Free wi-fi available.

Our evening function will be held at the Woolpack Hotel (approx 750m away). The Woolpack has a lovely atmosphere and classic character. It will be an intimate and excellent networking affair (ie we will bump into each other a lot).

The LLCI program will cover the accommodation cost (twin share) and attendance (meals) of LLCI coordinators and a committee representative from each host organisation.  Travel is your responsibility.  You can choose single accommodation at the time of registration, there will be an extra charge for this.  Other attendees will incur a cost for accommodation.   Landcare NSW has reserved accommodation at three different locations within walking distance of the NCIE.

National Centre of Indigenous Excellence
166-180 George St, Redfern

To keep you informed and assist with decisions, we have put together a montage of pictures to set the scene and have you involved.

Some of you may or may not know Redfern in Sydney. It is a vastly more buzzing place these days and extremely interesting, we have chosen the venue due to its proximity to the airport and central Sydney. The venue itself is set in a quiet leafy street.

If you come by plane you would literally get a train to Central and it's one stop on from there. Platform 19 at Central on the T3 Line will take you to Redfern. When you reach Redfern you can exit out of the train station via Lawson Street, turn right and you can walk to the NCIE in about 8 minutes.

Parking will be very limited, so if you are planning to drive you might want to find an alternative place to park and catch public transport.
