The Association supports individuals and groups working to improve land and water resources on the Far South Coast.
The Far South Coast Landcare Association (FSCLA) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting groups and individuals who work to improve land and water resource management on the Far South Coast.
For over 25 years, FSCLA has focused on projects that build community capacity and tackle issues such as weed control, soil health, sustainable grazing, feral animal control, native vegetation restoration, water quality, erosion (gully and riverbank), wetland protection, and dune management.
We work closely with South East Local Land Services (SELLS), Bega Valley Shire Council, National Parks and Wildlife Services, dairy industry groups, farmer groups, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils. FSCLA’s annual financial turnover exceeds $200,000, supported by significant funding from the NSW State Government, Bega Valley Shire Council, Local Land Services, Biodiversity Conservation Trust, and more recently, the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife. We currently employ a Landcare Coordinator and Project Officers for the Coastal Weeds Project, Conservation Management Network, and Seedbank. Our staff brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in various landcare issues, offering advice and support on grant access, on-ground works, native revegetation and propagation, weed control, group governance, and more.
As an ‘umbrella’ organization, FSCLA supports its members through project management, grant development, group governance, training forums, safety inductions, and field days.
Membership is free, and members receive invitations to upcoming events and information on grant opportunities - link here
