Recent extreme weather events across the country, including the Black Summer Bushfires and the floods this year have underlined the need for and the benefits of building a strong community.

The central role of our schools in our community underlines them as key and influential stakeholders in our community who are influencers directly and indirectly, through the parents of students. At the same time healthy competition between schools on sustainability provides a focus and motivation for the project. Student's participation and, through them, parent participation/awareness has the potential to effect a tangible change to community attitudes and involvement.

The Community Sustainability Hub and Expo Event are designed to support schools realise the benefits that will accrue through taking action.
