Flood Creek Non-Nativist Landcare Group is a grassroots community of people trying to improve the health, productivity, and ecological well-being of local country. We focus on the urban and peri-urban riparian zones around Braidwood, NSW, especially plants and animals occupying the non-native forest along Flood Creek. We recognise the ecological benefits of non-native species in providing habitat in many degraded Australian landscapes. We try to promote discussion and debate among volunteer members of the Landcare community on current treatment of non-native species in Australia. We feel employees of environmental bodies who might normally be relied upon to represent the Landcare movement are unable to raise or discuss these matters on our behalf given current laws and financial incentives for 'weed' eradication regardless of environmental value.
