Assisting the recovery of koala populations on the NSW North Coast

Green Army Project based on creating and improving koala habitat in the Northern Rivers area of NSW.

This is a Green Army Project and is multi-faceted and will provide many & varied opportunities for the team to learn new skills and increase their knowledge of natural resource issues specifically those faced by the Lismore koala population. Participants will be involved in seed collection, propagation and planting of koala food trees on private and public land as well as weed clearance activities around existing koala habitat areas. There will be research components; undertaking koala counts & recording findings on Lismore Council’s data base, and tree guarding trials.
