The Friends of Putta Bucca Wetland would like to invite you to come along and help them with a big Tree Planting Day on Saturday 9 May. Where Putta Bucca Wetland, Putta Bucca Road, Mudgee NSW All members of the public are welcome to join and no RSVP is needed! We want to restore habitat corridor linkages between the existing riparian woodland of the Cudgegong River, to our proposed Box-Gum Woodland restoration area in the north-east section of the Putta Bucca Wetlands Reserve. There are 350 eucalypts (mostly River Red Gum, but there are some Rough-barked Apple and Yellow Box) and River Oak (Casuarina cunninghamii) to be planted along the northern boundary of the wetland and we would like to get through the planting in one day. If you would like to be involved, please bring your own sturdy footwear, digging tools, plus hats, water, lunch etc. Start time is flexible, as this will be an all day event. Watering and final plantings may take place on the Sunday (which also happens to be mothers day!) Bring mum down, and have a fun active weekend helping out for a good cause in Mudgee!
