Muswellbrook Club to Club Project
Intrepid Landcare traveled up the Muswellbrook to help out with their Club to Club Project
On Saturday the 1st of April, 6 Hunter Intrepid Volunteers traveled to Muswellbrook to help them with their Club to Club project to restore Muscle Creek in the heart of Muswellbrook.
We were a part of a total of 55 volunteers that helped out over a total of 3 days. Together we all cleared approximately 3000 square metres of weeds, planted over 250 riparian trees and is a part of a 3 year project funded by the NSW Government's Environmental Trust.
We helped out of the Saturday morning and were then rewarded with a free meal at the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club.
Then 5 Intrepid Volunteers spent the afternoon walking up Burning Mountain, a local geological landmark past Scone, before retiring to make camp at the beautiful and lush Whirlpool Campsite. Some of us had a dip in the fresh water before then cooking up a Mexican burrito feast for dinner and chilling out in front of the fire as night set.
Rain might have made us move on earlier than we had planned Sunday morning but together it was a great weekend.
