"Return of the Mermaids" Restoration project

Since 2002 volunteers have been restoring the Mermaid Pool on Manly Creek.

Mermaid Pool is located on Manly Creek between Manly Dam and Manly's surfing beaches. It is a magical pool with waterfall and surrounding remnant bushland that had sadly become a dump site choked by invasive weeds. The community, however has answered the call and conducts monthly bush regeneration sessions as well as rubbish removal, educational programs, nesting box location, drain stenciling, lobbying and advocacy. What must happen is the long term conservation and protection of this vital waterway and wildlife corridor.
