The Murray Darling Junction Landcare Group is an incorporated body of volunteers encompassing the Wentworth Township and covers from Tuckers Creek in the East, to the Anabranch in the west, north to Pomona and south to the Murray River. The main land uses within the region include residential, grazing, irrigation for horticulture and viticulture, and tourism.
Since its inception in December 2006, the group has completed several successful projects to protect and enhance the natural environment in and around Thegoa Lagoon. After a brief hiatus from 2012 to 2014, the group has reformed with new and invigorated members. Protecting and enhancing Thegoa Lagoon was the driving factor for the reformation of the group and remains a high priority for members.
