Energy Management Basics training for the Orange SME business community

Energy Management for Businesses - Senior staff, including sustainability and environment officers and champions, operations and facilities managers and management team members. This is a workshop run by Office of Environment and Heritage - Central Tablelands Landcare are just supporting the promotion of the event following on from the success of the Clean Energy Forum run in Bathurst last year.

Partnership meeting with Central Tablelands LLS

Landcare representatives - individuals and representatives from all Landcare groups in the Central Tablelands Landcare district will be starting 2015 with a "building ideas" session with the Central Tablelands LLS on Monday 9th March in Orange. Anyone interested in developing ideas for the future of Landcare in the Central Tablelands Landcare district is most welcome to come along.

The Great Eastern Ranges Initiative would like to invite Landholders and community groups in the Kanangra Boyd to Wyangala link to the launch of the K2W 2015 Landholder grants. Melissa Henry from South East LLS and K2W project manager, Gary Howling will be at the launch and available to answer questions about the grants and discuss eligibility, priority areas, and how they can work in with your property planning. Many of our K2W partners will be at the launch to talk about programs that they are running in the K2W link; including Land for Wildlife; National Parks Association; Nature Conservation Trust; Landcare; Taronga Zoo; Greening Australia; and the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. (at General store)

Funding for projects in the Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala Link

The Great Eastern Ranges Initiative is providing funding for landholders and community groups to protect and restore natural connections for native species in the Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala Link landscape corridor. Funding of $5,000-30,000 per grant is available for: • Protecting landscape connectivity • Managing threats to new and existing mechanisms • Restoring connectivity through revegetation • Managing invasive animal threats to connectivity and threatened species • Managing priority weed outbreaks Funding is available subject to priorities that have been adopted for the K2W Link project. Information about the criteria is available from the GER website at: www.greateasternranges.org.au/k2w or by contacting Melissa Henry on 02 6385 1018. Applications close on Tuesday 14 April 2015.

WHO'S LIVING ON MY LAND?

Rural landholders in the Taralga region are being offered the opportunity to find out more about which native and pest animals are living on their property. The “Who’s living on my land?” program, run by the National Parks Association of NSW, turns private landholders into citizen scientists by teaching them how to use state of the art cameras to discover the wildlife on their property.
