Weevil biocontrol is both ecologically and economically significant, reducing both the spread of sagittaria and continuous herbicide use.

The lead project organisation is Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions Victorian Government. YACTAC is an industry contributor, along with Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited (MI) and NSW Department of Primary Industries.
