Hello!
I'm Linda Cavanagh and I'd like to introduce myself as the Regional Landcare Coordinator (RLC) for the South East region. I live and work on a property with my family in the South West Slopes and have a keen interest in promoting regenerative agricultural practices in an unpredictable climatic environment and believe that Landcare has an important role in restoring the balance of diversity in our landscape.
RLC role
I am continuing my role as local landcare coordinator with Boorowa Community Landcare Group and am excited to expand my work to support others in the South East Regional Community of Practice (SE RCOP). The RLC position will be hosted by Far South Coast Landcare Association Inc.
As an RLC, I look forward to working closely with Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator (RALF), Landcare NSW, Local Land Services and other relevant partners, supporting local coordinators to connect and consider regional approaches to planning, identifying opportunities for purposeful collaboration.
The South East Region
Due to geographical difference and climatic range, there is great diversity in landcare groups in the South East region and the networks have varied interests. There are 15 district landcare networks employing 12 coordinators through the NSW Landcare Program.
