Nicole Maher

Hello!

My name is Nicole Maher and I am the Regional Landcare Coordinator for the Riverina region. I am hosted by Murrumbidgee Landcare, and based at Wagga Wagga. I live on a small property at Downside with my three young kids and my fabulous husband (who is also a keen Landcarer!)

I have a background in sustainable agriculture and natural resource management and worked in technical and research roles for a few years before coming to Murrumbidgee Landcare thirteen years ago.

My goals as a Regional Landcare Coordinator: · Share information with the Landcare community through our website and social media, and a monthly e-newsletter (sign up to our newsletter here!)  https://mli.org.au/news/newsletter/

· Promote Landcare and our achievements by working with the media and developing case studies and reports

· Work with schools, pre-schools and youth groups to get kids involved in Landcare, and help them develop a      love and respect for nature

· Collaborate with the many other groups in our region (including Local Land Services, Councils, research            bodies, government departments, agri-businesses, industry associations and community groups), to work        together to achieve better outcomes for natural resources and sustainable agriculture

· Support our Local Landcare Coordinators and Landcare groups to develop and deliver successful projects.

I am continually inspired by the dedication and commitment shown by Landcare members, and the amazing ways in which our Landcare groups create real improvements to our local environment!
