Volunteer Bushcare groups meet monthly at various reserves across Blacktown City and complete bush regeneration activities such as weed removal, planting locally native plants and tasks to improve the natural surroundings. Council provides supervision, training, plants, tools, and information on grants and other special projects. The bushland remnants in Blacktown City are known as Cumberland Plain Woodland, a critically endangered ecological community. These areas of native vegetation contain a great diversity of plants, some of which are listed as endangered or threatened. The remnants areas are extremely important as they provide habitat for birds and local wildlife and help provide a great environment for us to live in. We are COVID Safe.
