The Capertee River forms the upper reaches of the Colo River which flows then into the Hawkesbury. The valley has been used for agriculture for the last 200 years and the river has lost much of it's natural vegetation. This means that not only is the river health put into risk but the available vegetation to support the local birds and animals is fragmented.
We are carrying out a project over the next 5 years to plant more trees into the paddocks along the river, in individual strong guards since these areas are still subject to use by cattle. In 2018 we planted 150 trees, of the varieties that used to exist along the river, This year 2019 we'll plant 200.
We are a very small group and very much need help to carry out this planting.

If you want to join us you'll be very welcome. We can organise accommodation.
