Pest Engagement Project

Central Tablelands Landcare is working with the Central Tablelands Local Land Services to deliver the Pest Engagement Project over the 2019 financial year.

The key objective of the project is to:

Facilitate the development of local pest management plans and coordinate pest management activities in key areas of the central tablelands region by working as part of a team that will include Local Land Services, NPWS, State Forests, NSW DPI, wild dog and pest management groups and land managers across all tenures.

Appointment of a Pest Animal Group Coordinator:

o Lead community engagement in the development of pest animal groups. This may include organisation of meetings, workshops and presentations.
o Support the effective functioning of existing and new pest management groups including help in establishing
governance arrangements and ensuring effective internal communications systems.
o Facilitate the development of local pest animal management plans that are consistent with the Central
Tablelands Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan.
o Contribute to the planning, prioritisation and review of coordinated pest animal programs across the central
tablelands.
o Support and promote best practice pest animal control and management including baiting, trapping, shooting and mustering.
