The main aim of the Bushcare Program is to regenerate, protect and preserve urban bushland areas within the City of Ryde.

Bushcare Activities

Bushcare encompasses a wide variety of activities including:

  • Plant identification
  • Woody weed removal
  • Hand weeding
  • Track maintenance
  • Site assessment and monitoring
  • Fauna observations
  • Water quality testing
  • Onsite training.

Bushcare Groups

Bushcare Groups are currently working at 20 different sites throughout the City of Ryde.

  • Groups usually meet once a month for a period of two hours in the morning or afternoon
  • Wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, sturdy enclosed shoes, a hat and sunscreen
  • All tools, gloves and training are supplied
  • All you need to bring is yourself and your enthusiasm.
