Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare Inc (CHRL) is an incorporated, not-for-profit community group, acting as the umbrella group for over 35 land-caring groups and associations, comprising of dune, river, estuary, bush, coast and land ‘care’ groups in the Coffs Harbour area. Landcare activities have been a part of the Coffs Harbour Community for over 20 years. Volunteers work on coastal sites within the Coffs Coast Regional Park as well as reserves managed by Coffs Harbour City Council, the Office of Environment and Heritage (National Parks and Wildlife Service) or NSW Crown Lands. Membership is open to everyone.

 

 

Projects

Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare has developed a series of YouTube videos demonstrating a number of commonly used bush regeneration techniques including cut and paint, crowning, scrape and paint, stem injection. This is a valuable tool for all Landcare volunteers. A new video was recently added on Tropical Soda Apple identification and control.

This project is funded by the Coffs Harbour City Council Environmental Levy and has been renewed every year since 2000. In this time Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare has received a total of $990 000 from the levy for this project which has helped to support our 300+ volunteers undertake rehabilitation and revegetation works across 32 sites in the Coffs Harbour region.
