Protecting, enhancing and promoting sustainable landuse in the Eastern Riverina

The Eastern Riverina Landcare Group is a grassroots, non-profit organisation representing Landcare, landholders and the wider community in our region, comprising: Alma Park, Burrandana, Henty, Gelston Park, Lockhart, Mangoplah, Pleasant Hills, The Rock, Uranquinty and Yerong Creek. Our group is working to: * Promote natural solutions to local natural resource issues that are constraining landuse * Encourage wide community involvement in Landcare * Encourage and support our future Landcare leaders * Build partnerships and collaborative projects with similar organisations.

Projects

Eastern Riverina Landcare Group have been improving Squirrel Glider habitat for the last 20 years. Monitoring over the last 5 year has shown improved numbers.

Doodle Comer Wetlands Nature Reserve is a wonderful local environment for wildlife and endangered ecological communities. The local people of Henty will find it a huge draw card for their local and tourist communities.

Eastern Riverina Landcare has a huge interest in improving the biodiversity of the region and has had many field days and working bees to help education the local community on the importance of locally endemic habitat.
