Ferdinand Street Reserve is located on the northern slope of the Hunters Hill peninsula, within the Hunters Hill Local Government Area.

Covering an area of approximately 0.19 hectares, the reserve is bounded by the Lane Cove River to the north and private residences of North Parade and Ernest Street along its southern margins. The reserve adjoins the foreshore for approximately 400m and slopes steeply upwards away from the shore.

The reserve offers passive recreation opportunities to walkers and for boating, by means of two boatsheds located on the northern foreshore. The reserve supports significant native vegetation, including locally rare stands of Forest Red Gum Eucalyptus tereticornis and Blackbutt Eucalyptus pilularis and two Endangered Ecological Communities: Swamp Oak Floodplain Forest and Coastal Saltmarsh.
