Day Out for Fabulous Rural Women
GLENRAC is very excited to be holding our Annual Rural Women’s Day this Saturday the 15th October 2016 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The event will be held at the Glen Innes Showground Tea Rooms and will feature two informative and inspiring presentations from Kate Blackmore and Jan Bavea.
The day is held in recognition of International Rural Women’s Day, also the 15th October. This day recognizes the critical role and contribution of rural women, including indigenous women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty. It is purposely held the day before World Food Day, in order to highlight the role played by rural women in food production and food security.
GLENRAC held its first Rural Women’s Day event in 2014, and last year the Gather in the Glen committee hosted the NSW Rural Women’s Gathering around the same time. GLENRAC plans to continue to host an annual event to provide an opportunity for local rural women to meet and network as well as learn new things and have an enjoyable day out.
All Rural Women are welcome to join the GLENRAC team to celebrate Rural Women’s Day. This event is free to attend and we ask that you bring a plate to share for morning tea. Lunch will be provided. To RSVP contact GLENRAC by the 12th October 2016 on 02 6732 3443 or office@glenrac.org.au
