Our Goals: Caring for the Tucki Tucki Creek at the Birdwing Butterfly Gully area in Goonellabah. Enhance the area along Upper Tucki Tucki Creek and the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Gully by returning it to a native rainforest corridor for the enjoyment of the general public and local community.
We meet every Saturday, working on Tucki Tucki Creek in the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Gully off Kadina St in Goonellabah.
We meet from 8.00am. Volunteers can do an hour, or two, or more - just what suits you the best.
Our main focus is replacing non-native species with native species that are indigenous to the area. We have also been focusing on extending and widening the existing rainforest corridor by planting into open areas along the walking track. This will enhance the area along Upper Tucki Tucki Creek and the Goonellabah Birdwing Butterfly Gully by returning it to a native rainforest corridor for the enjoyment of the general public and local community and creating biodiversity that will attract more wildlife and birds to the area.
As an Incorporated Association we charge a nominal yearly fee of $10. Children are free.
We are funded partially by Lismore City Council and rely on donations, fundraising events and are seek grant funding to cover the considerable cost of the work being undertaken in the area.
Goonellabah Tucki Creek Landcare Inc. have been going for well over 20 years. We currently have about 46 acres along the creek that we are regenerating.
We are very family friendly!
