The impact

Streamwatch contines to grow under Greater Sydney Landcare, with new schools and community groups joining and recommitting from South Creek in Sydney's northwest to those who care for country in Sydney's southern suburbs. Streamwatch is also being embraced by Girl Guide and Scout Groups, who are now supported with an easy-to-use new Streamwatch Kit. GSL provides training and support and important educational messages for future generations who are at the core of cultural change.

Local Councils are also taking advantage of what Streamwatch has to offer. Several Council Environmental teams have integrated the Streamwatch program into their existing environmental monitoring practices with the benefit of getting more for less.

On top of the community learning and social benefits Streamwatch is helping to cut costs when it comes to responsible environmental monitoring. Councils are up skilling Bushcare volunteers with water quality monitoring and data recording, subsequently reinvigorating Bushcare teams with a new and meaningful outcomes.

Streamwatch at Greater Sydney Landcare continues to offer a practical way for people to learn about their local environment and contribute to long-term waterway health.
