This camp is a chance for you to spend time in nature on a private conservation property, relax, socialise with other young people and get your hands dirty helping nature. It’s also a chance to disconnect from the world for a while, focus on yourself, and chat with someone if there is anything you are struggling with.

Where: The camp is in Mulgoa, the exact address will be shared closer to the day.

Who is this event for? This event is specifically for people aged 18 – 35 years old living in Penrith and surrounding areas.

As a wellbeing event, Wilderness Youth Camp Out will include opportunities for you to talk about the challenges you are facing or have faced as a young person and to learn simple coping mechanisms they can use. There will be information there about whom you can contact for help when you need it, and a Mental Health First Aid officer will be present on Saturday.

Some of the Activities will include:

  • Bush regeneration and conservation activities (relocation of unused wire tree guards and stakes)
  • Learning simple ways to help manage stress and anxiety
  • Free time
  • Wildlife spotlighting walk
  • Campfire
  • Guided bird-watching walk in the morning

You do not have to partake in all the activities but must remain with the group. If you do not want to camp, and just want to come for the afternoon that is okay, please let us know in your registration survey.
