Following the Foreshore: A guided walk around Wallis Lake restoration sites on NSW mid-north coast

Friday 24th July 2015

Join local bush regeneration contractor, Melanie Ledgett, on a morning walk around saltmarsh and wetland communities surrounding the peaceful village of Coomba Park, on the western shore of Wallis Lake. Ten years of bush regenera- tion has seen impenetrable lantana and senna infestations restored to healthy wetlands with groves of cabbage tree palms, swamp oaks, carex, baumea, and saltmarsh.

The walk will cover 3 sites actively being worked under contract with Great Lakes Council where ongoing challenges include vine control, landuse and foreshore clearing and water level changes over time.
