Free land management workshops for Sydney-based rural landholders
Managing a property remotely can be challenging and could result in weed, pest and productivity issues, and might even affect neighbouring properties. Greater Sydney Local Land Services has a unique new project helping absentee rural landholders living in Sydney to improve their land management practices through a series of free informative workshops. Workshop topics include feral animals, weeds, water, native vegetation, soil, groundcovers, farm biosecurity, conservation and other useful information on being a responsible rural landholder. These short evening workshops will be held in convenient locations across Sydney in 2015 and 2016. A new smartphone app will also be released later in 2015, and will further help landholders look after their land by providing useful information at their fingertips.
