Helensburgh & District Landcare Group
Our volunteers work to remove invasive weeds and rubbish from two areas. Our main site is the historic Old Station which has a wonderful combination of natural and cultural interest. The site’s history is explained on an interpretive sign at the entrance. The old platform has been uncovered, the Helensburgh railway sign restored and the railway tunnel contains glow worms. We have worked for some years now removing weeds and planting local species. Our second site is also associated with the history of Helensburgh. Situated along Helensburgh Creek, weeding started here in 1992. We continue with on-going maintenance.
