The highly invasive Camphor Laurel is capable of forming single species communities that exclude most desirable native vegetation. Its invasion of the Wootton area is only in its early stages, so it is a high weed management priority for Wootton to control it before it takes hold and becomes the “next Privet”. Bushcare Officer Isabelle Strachan and Noxious Weed Coordinator Terry Inkson will give a practical demonstration of how to effectively destroy Camphor Laurels, and replace them with rapidly growing native fig trees.
