FOG: Celebrating Monaro Golden Daisy Showcase, Thurs 23 Nov 2017

Friends of Grasslands is celebrating its long term commitment to Monaro grasslands by a Showcasing the Old Cooma Common Grassland Reserve and its population of of Monaro Golden Daisy. This is followed by Workshop (advertised separately).

This event will include a visit to the Monaro’s icon grassland reserve to showcase the grassland Common, to see the Monaro Golden Daisy in flower, to publicise FOG’s Monaro Golden Daisy three-year project, and to celebrate FOG’s eighteen-year involvement in Cooma grasslands. If you haven’t been to the Common, it is a large reserve with spectacular landscape views showing the extensive Monaro grasslands and distant mountains.  

The workshop will enable FOG and partners (South East Local Land Services, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Office of Heritage and Environment and Kosciuszko to Coast) to assess achievements to-date and proposals to conserve grassland and associated threatened species in future. We hope many FOG members and friends will make the effort to join us.

Speakers include David Eddy, Margaret Ning, Geoff Robertson, Sarah Sharp, Rob Armstrong, Brett Jones, Leon Miners, Rob Armstrong and Tony Robinson. A light lunch will be provided for workshop participants.
