The issue

Working in collaboration with Temora Shire Council, the aim of the project was to put some finishing touches to the newly constructed walking track the circles the lake. Two areas were identified where improving not only the aesthetics but providing habitat linkage and shelter for native species that utilise the lake.

The solution

We reached out to the community as well as the local Rotary branch and the Lake Centenary Management Committee to assist on the day. Funding for the project was provided by Temora Shire Council, with the community providing the man power to get the plants into the ground and collect any rubbish from the site.

The impact

Around 25 people attended to plant 200 grasses and shrubs and to collect some rubbish. It was great to see families with children involved in the day. Council assisted with mulching both planting sites and will water as required over the summer to ensure good survival.
