Lake Cargelligo Landcare aspires to manage both natural and productive environments of Lake Cargelligo, associated wetlands, and surrounding agricultural region.

Lake Cargelligo Landcare aims to apply the broad aims of the Landcare movement, such as appropriate management of both natural and productive environments, to the Lake Cargelligo system and surrounding area in central-western New South Wales. As such, there is an emphasis on the Lake itself, including restoration of riparian areas, educational materials (such as signage) for the benefit of tourists and locals, support for local groups involved in weed control, ecological monitoring and youth advancement opportunities, and the co-ordination of local events that raise the profile of the Lake, the extensive associated wetland area, the local area more generally and the Lachlan catchment.

Projects

The visitor experience to Lake Cargelligo and its associated wetlands will be greatly enhanced by the installation of five state-of-the-art interpretive signs.
