The Little River Landcare Group (LRLG) formed in 1998 as a result of community members identifying that natural resource management needed to be implemented on a catchment scale, rather than in small social clusters. LRLG has grown to become a highly successful Landcare organisation that addresses issues of an environmental, social and economic nature; striving towards our vision ‘to promote a healthy, productive and diverse biological and social environment’. This approach to managing the 320,000ha catchment has resulted in an engagement of 75% of the Catchment land mass. LRLG delivers information and education to more than 18,000 people on an annual basis, recognising that education of land managers is paramount in order to bring about change in the way that land is managed for future generations.
