Most MangroveWatch activities are boat-based, recording shoreline condition with photography and observation for expert assessment.

MangroveWatch is a partnership program between community and environmental specialists to record and monitor shoreline change in a rigorous scientific way. Many aspects of shoreline condition are scored, like mangrove erosion and expansion for the length of Tingalpa Creek. Changes are linked to causative factors to help better inform management of local and regional issues.
