Wellington youth take action in war on waste.

Artist Zac Craig mentors local youth in the creation of a call-to-action Waste2Art posing sculpture.

Mid Macquarie Landcare hosted a Waste2Art workshop last week in Wellington.

The workshop was run by professional Artist Zac Craig and students participated in the creation of a Waste Warrior posing board in a community call-to-action for Plastic Free July.

“Thanks to the Bodangora Wind Farm grants, we were able to bring Zac to town from 10-12 July for this unique opportunity” explained Mid Macquarie Landcare Coordinator Danielle Littlewood

“The students that participated had a great time, learnt a lot of new skills and have a new appreciation for reducing the amount of waste we produce in our community thanks to a presentation from Dubbo Regional Councils Waste Education Officer, Hamish Campbell”

“Our Waste Warrior will be displayed about town during Plastic Free July and will form part of the regional Waste2Art exhibition in Dubbo later in the year” says Ms Littlewood.
